Configuring History Days and Processing Settings for a CS TimeClock
Applicable
version:
5.06 and later
Feature Details
When TNA is connected to a CS TimeClock for
the first time it will import the clock
settings. After the first synchronization
TNA becomes the master of the clock.
Since TNA takes over the processing of hours
one can dedicate the storage space available on
the CS TimeClock to clockings only by disabling
the Auto-Processing feature on the clock.
It is also recommended to keep the minimum
number of clockings on the clock itself as TNA
constantly collects and stores the clockings in
it's database.
To set the History Days and turn off
Auto-Processing open the Device Setup Screen,
select the clock and click on Change. The
Update Clock window will open:

Untick the "Process
Hours on Clock" box and enter the number of days
of clocking history you need to keep on the
clock.
We recommend that
this be set to no more than 30 days, but the
setting may have to be adjusted to the site's
requirements. A rule of thumb is to assume
that the maximum number of clockings the clock
can store is 10,000 (with auto-processing
disabled).
Example 1: On
Site A, 100 employees will each clock 4 times
per day - this equates to 400 clockings per day.
Therefore the "Keep History for" for this clock
must be set to: 10,000 / 400 = 25 days.
Example 2: On Site
B, 50 employees will each clock 2 times per day
- this equates to 100 clockings per day.
This clock can be set to: 10,000 / 100 =
100 days, but set it to 30 days as the
recommended maximum
.
