What is the IP number of your Computer?

It is sometimes useful to know what the IP number of your computer is. This document discusses ways of determining the IP number of a computer.

Tip : Your computer may have more than one IP number. That's because the IP number is not related to your machine. Rather it is related to the Network Card on the machine. And don't forget that in these days of Dial-Up-Networking, a modem can function as a network card. So if you have more than 1 network card in the machine, or a Dial-Up modem attached, then your computer will have more than one IP address.
