Configuring Access Control using CapeClocks
How to configure the Access Control features in the CapeClocks
hardware.
Version 2.41 or later. CapeClock 128 version 3.00 or later.
Time Zones allow you to limit the times at which the
employee can clock on the
device.
For example you may only want Employee 1 to have access to the
door from 8 am to 6 pm. This is a Time Zone.
By default Time Zones limit both the In and Out
clocking times. However you can also set it to
limit only the In clocking times on some, or all, devices.
This limits the employee to clocking In during a set period, but
they can clock Out at any time.
To set the time Zones go to the Hardware module, to the Setup
menu, and select Time Zone Sets.
You can create up to 16 different sets. Each employee will ultimately
be assigned to 1 set.
Inside each set you can have up to 32 time windows on each
day. For example you may allow clockings from 8am to 10am,
and from 4pm to 6pm, but nothing inbetween. In this case you have
2 time windows.
Each day of the week can also have different time windows from
other days in the week.
The CapeClock is capable of containing a large number of time
window combinations (at least 224) but this is spread over all
the sets, and across all the days. The CapeClock also makes use
of a compression scheme so in some cases more than 224 windows
will be possible.
The Time Zone which applies to each employee can be set in 4 places.
A) The device override. This is set for a particular device in
the Hardware module on the Update Devices screen. This is the
Time Zone Override setting on the Access Control
tab. If this is 0 then the Employee setting is used.
B) On the Update Employee Details screen. This is the Time
Zone setting on the Access tab. If this is set to 0
then the Shift setting is used. |
